1 Samuel 21:15

¹⁵ Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?

²⁹ Let it rest on the head of Joab, and on all his father's house; and let there not fail from the house of Joab one that hath an issue, or that is a leper, or that leaneth on a staff, or that falleth on the sword, or that lacketh bread.

²² Then Pharaoh said unto him, But what hast thou lacked with me, that, behold, thou seekest to go to thine own country? And he answered, Nothing: howbeit let me go in any wise.

¹⁶ And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by Elijah.

⁷ And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

⁴ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

⁹ He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

³² But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth his own soul.

¹⁶ Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,

¹³ In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

¹² He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

¹¹ He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

³⁰ I went by the field of the slothful, slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

² A man to whom God hath given riches, wealth, and honour, so that he wanteth nothing for his soul of all that he desireth, yet God giveth him not power to eat thereof, but a stranger stranger eateth it: this is vanity, and it is an evil disease.

³ Yea also, when he that is a fool walketh by the way, his wisdom faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool.
