8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
31 Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows.
23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.
15 Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.
24 And Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore therefore err, because ye know not the scriptures, neither the power of God?
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.
37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
33 Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
36 But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot cannot come.
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, thither ye cannot cannot come?
46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?
49 Jesus answered, I have not a devil; but I honour my Father, and ye do dishonour me.
27 He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will will ye also be his disciples?
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
28 And he said unto them, Ye know how that it is an unlawful thing for a man that is a Jew to keep company, or come unto one of another nation; but God hath shewed me that I should not call any man common or unclean.
25 And as John fulfilled his course, he said, Whom think ye that I am? I am not he. But, behold, there cometh one after me, whose shoes of his feet I am not worthy to loose.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.
15 Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. forbid.
23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.
1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
4 Lest haply if they of Macedonia come with me, and find you unprepared, we we that we say not, ye should be ashamed in this same confident boasting.
7 Now I pray to God that ye do do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
21 Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law?
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
17 Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:
5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.

"For" (as used in Acts 2:38 "for the forgiveness...") could have twomeanings. If you saw a poster saying "Jesse James wanted forrobbery", "for" could mean Jesse is wanted so he can commit arobbery, or is wanted because he has committed a robbery. The latersense is the correct one. So too in this passage, the word "for"signifies an action in the past. Otherwise, it would violate theentire tenor of the NT teaching on salvation by grace and not by works.
