3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.

14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
12 But they know not the thoughts of the LORD, neither understand they his counsel: for he shall gather them as the sheaves into the floor.
