Deuteronomy 4:3

³ Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baal-peor: for all the men that followed followed Baal-peor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

Deuteronomy 8:5

⁵ Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the LORD thy God chasteneth thee.
