8 Neither did we eat any man's man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.

10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
